Gerbera Association - Newsletter

Dear Members,

It has been a while since you last heard from us, but it is not because we had no news: it was because we have been really busy! It's with some pride that we send you this newsletter: we have some exciting news for you! Please have a look below.

CONTENTS:
1) New website live

2) Gardenex 14 - 17 April
3) Visitor from Korea

1) The website, www.gerbera.org has been totally revamped. A new color scheme, new sections, new articles, everything is new and improved. We are also very happy to have the Barberton Times on board: every Wednesday they send us their front page articles, which we put online that same day. In return we get additional exposure in their newspaper.
So, have a look here: www.gerbera.org/barbtimes-current.html (opens in new window) for the latest copy. On the right hand side there is a list of previous issues. We realise this is only the beginning: more instructions on how to grow daisies, how to care for them and curing them (diseases) will follow. Soon there will also be a German section, as the Traugott Gerber Verein will start adding pages.

Keep visiting the website, it will grow and grow...

2) The Gerbera Association will be present at the Gardenex show, next week: from Thursday 14 until Sunday 17 April at stand D33, where we will promote the Association in particular and the Gerbera in general. For more information on the show, have a look at this website: www.gardenex.co.za

3) Last month Dr. Chung, a well known gerbera breeder from Korea, visited Barberton for a quick tour. This was already his second visit to Mpumalanga and he will return in November with several students from Korea. He wants to show them the Barberton Daisy in its natural habitat in our mountains. They will stay for 5 days in Barberton and visit the Botanical Garden in Pietermaritzburg and the Hilton Daisies around Hilton in Natal.

We hope you enjoy(ed) this renewed contact with the Gerbera Association. We would like to hear your feedback and input: feel free to contact us anytime.
