1) Gardenex 2005
2) Dr. Chung from Korea and Daphne Upham of Barberton Daisy Nursery on our website
3) Original Barberton Daisies
4) Mpumalanga Exco meeting at 3 May
1)
Gardenex, the horticulture show in Johannesburg we participated at with our own stand, was very fruitful: although the membership applications didn't pour in, we have made some very good contacts, among them two magazines we will cooperate with: The Garderner and Landscape SA: they will publish gerbera related articles and we will publish their articles on our website, providing professional information for visitors.
Another very important contact is the National Department of Agriculture. We will keep close contact with the department, a few ideas were discussed, and areas of cooperation identified. In a few weeks from now, we will finalize all we started at the Show.
We put some pictures of the stand on the website; have a look here: www.gerbera.org/gardenex-2005.html
(opens in new window).
2)
Dr Chung, our South Korean member and Gerbera breeder, and Daphne Upham with her Barberton Daisy Nursery will be on our website soon, with their own pages.
3)
Daphne will supply the Gerbera Association with original Barberton Daisies (no hybrids) at a special price for our members. More details in our next Newsletter.
4)
Gerbera Association Exco meeting of Mpumalanga branch on 3 May at Marlies Liebenberg in Barberton.
Matters, which will need urgent attention, are as follows:
a) Gerbera Garden
b) Replacement of Bronwyn Tallack (treasurer), as she is leaving Barberton.
Report will follow in the next Newsletter.
We hope you enjoy this Gerbera Association Newsletter. We would like to hear your feedback and input: feel free to contact us anytime.
